Summer Nets

Summer nets start on Tuesday 19th April at the ground and run throughout the season.

Junior nets for the Under 9s, 11s and 13s will start at 6:30pm each Tuesday evening. Nets for older Juniors, Under 15s and 17s, as well as Seniors will commence at 7:00pm on Thursday evenings although all players wishing to get involved with the Junior set up, especially during training, are more than welcome to attend Tuesday practices.

Fundraising

The club have been awarded a grant of £30,000 from Kirklees Council Community Fund towards the planned refurbishment of the clubhouse.

The grant is to be released as and when the club manage to raise the remaining £15,000 required to complete the work. To help the club raise this money the committee would like to hear any ideas that players and family have no matter how small.

Clubmark

The Upper Hopton Cricket Club committee is pleased to announce that the club has been awarded Clubmark status.

Clubmark status is awarded to clubs with junior sections, across all sports, which operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.

For Upper Hopton Cricket Club being awarded Clubmark status is confirmation of the high standards which the club hopes to maintain and acknowledgement of efforts of all those involved with the Junior cricket teams. In particular the club would like to thank Ian and Julie Heaton and Jack Carson for their efforts in completing the application and ensuring that the club attained its accreditation.

The Clubmark certificate will be presented to club officials on Thursday 2nd September at 6:30pm by Andrew Gale, captain of Yorkshire County Crickt Club, at the UHCC ground.
